Pros:

Prompt service, starting with a phone call right after I booked the car, to let me know when the vehicle would be ready for me. Fun to drive the Dodge Charger R/T! Many thanks to Susan for the courtesy ride and for making it to my work shuttle on time. You're a great driver :).

Pros:

Car was a great car for driving around california. Quite zippy and very easy to parallel park. When picking up car, I felt it was a bit dirty outside and inside. Looked like Car had been vacuumed but windows, dashboard and and steering wheel were dirty. A simple detail would solve the problem so the next client can be assured a clean driving rental vehicle. I would rent again from both Enterprise and Kayak website.

The customer service isn't exceptional, but it's adequate. This is a respectable car company, one of the few remaining in an industry often marked by dishonesty. The staff were nice and helpful. The car was nice and clean. But we did experience over 40mins of delay before the car became available.

I bought insurance through Kayak. When I picked up the car the SixT agent said we have to put a €1500 hold on your card in case of damage. I never heard of that before. I took the car and after 5 days returned it in the same condition I received it. The SixT agent said all was good and I expected the €1500 hold to be reversed. It’s been more than 24 hours but the hold is still on. Be careful when renting from SixT.

While I had a reservation, I did not rent a cat from SIXT. They were inflexible in working with me to change my reservation (due to airline flight delays.) and ultimately charged my card even though I never arrived for picking up the car ( note I did Not have a Prepaid rate. My reservation was for a Pay on Pickup.)

When I arrived on time on the date of my reservation, the rep at this Avis location said they didn't have the car I reserved. This trip, I was visiting my dad who was recovering from an extensive surgery and going to be staying home. So, I really didn't care what kind of car they gave me and I asked for anything they had available. The rep said they actually didn't have any cars available and he'd call me when "the fleet came in". What? No rental cars available with a reservation too? I called another Avis and they said they'd get back to me but never did. After a few hours, still not hearing back from either Avis, I called Enterprise. Not only did they have many cars available but they we're very professional and welcoming too. What a headache and waste of time especially after a couple long flights. The worst part was I lost time I could've been spending with my dad. I will never use Avis again.

The location of the pickup area (in Sucat, Paranaque) is not easily accessible and very hard to find. There is also an extra deposit that I have to pay for in case of incidentals such as tolls and if fuel tank is not full when returned. They will refund the balance to my credit card after a few weeks (according to them).

Went to rental office and no SUVs were available. We had already waited an hour in line and had to leave the office. Went to the airport and had to pay full price for an suv rental. The car had not been cleaned. It drove well. Staff was nice at the airport Avis facility.

Personnel at San Jose office was rude! He was upselling the car insurance which I told him isn’t necessary as we have coverage through Chase Sapphire Reserve which is the credit card I used to book reservations. He was unhappy that we declined the insurance and was very rude from then on. It was a real sad first impression of Costa Rica citizens.

Budget was under resourced for the amount of reservations they accepted. We waited in line for 30 minutes to check in, then waited another 30 minutes to recieve a car because they had no inventory. I finally accepted a full size Dodge Ram quad cab as my rental car to drive my family to the beach. It was not ideal. I didn't want to wait any longer for my actual rental to be available. They simply oversold their supply. Not a great business strategy. I feel bad for the front line workers that had to deal with that many unhappy vacationers. We were all just sitting around baggage claim staring at each other, waiting for our name to be called in the "Do I Get A Car?" lottery.

It was hard to get a hold of them in the morning. I was on hold for 30+ minutes. I gave up as I was first in line according to the recording. I called back and no one called me back. At noon I left a message and none called me back. At 2 I called and finally spoke to someone. Once I spoke to someone it was excellent from there all the way through.

When I pay money to reserve a vehicle and I get to dollar to check in and was told there is no more 7 passenger vehicle available and there's three people ahead of me also waiting on a 7 passenger vehicle. I think it's poor on Dollar and the third parties Dollar works with. I was not refunded my money for the service I could not use.

Everything was fine. There was a bit of a wait to pickup the car & mixup on car itself compared to the rental agreement. But everyone handled it fast, smooth, & positively. Drop off was smooth. No issues at all. The only inquiry or recommendation is to enhance the Dollar rental experience to be more like renting for Hertz, but there might be reasons I am not considering. Anyway, all good. Electronic car rentals themselves need some help, but that's the car & EV charging station issue not the rental company. Thanks

We could not arrive on time before the agency closing hour. We tried to call the customer service to let them know and that we would come the next Day to pick up the car. The telephone number was not attributed so no chance to get anyone on the Phone. The next Day we showed up to the agency only to find out the car was no longer avalaible and our booking non refundable. Terrible terrible customer experience... We had to book another car and lost around 110 CHF over this crazy stupid process.

No chairs in the rental office. You have to stand up while waiting for the only employee to get to you (and it could be a long wait). No modern credit card machine so I had to be in contact with my credit card provider in order to authorize the deal. No way to buy CDW online (I got an email saying the order was confirmed, but was unable to find it using the thrifty website). I rented a car from the exact same location 2 years ago and had the exact same issues. It seems that nothing had changed since. The car itself was excellent, but the headache around the order was a letdown.

I would rent from Fox again but I’d be way more likely to rent from Fox if there was a way to use their car for toll roads on only the days when you’re planning to use it on those roads instead of paying for toll usage for the entire duration of the trip. Having to pay for the entire duration even though I only wanted to use tolls for one day meant that the cost was much higher and the value not really that great.
