Pros:

Prompt service, starting with a phone call right after I booked the car, to let me know when the vehicle would be ready for me. Fun to drive the Dodge Charger R/T! Many thanks to Susan for the courtesy ride and for making it to my work shuttle on time. You're a great driver :).

Pros:

Car was a great car for driving around california. Quite zippy and very easy to parallel park. When picking up car, I felt it was a bit dirty outside and inside. Looked like Car had been vacuumed but windows, dashboard and and steering wheel were dirty. A simple detail would solve the problem so the next client can be assured a clean driving rental vehicle. I would rent again from both Enterprise and Kayak website.

Every person that I encountered was incredibly polite, efficient and competent . My flight arrived one hour before the Alamo/Enterprise desk opened. I would have loved the ability to pick up my car through a kiosk or something else to avoid a one hour wait for the desk to open.

Most of the experience was excellent but felt like the original pick up experience was too pushy in trying to upsell us to spend money on things we didn't need. They know we've just landed from a long flight and are experiencing jet lag and it feels like they are trying to take advantage of you in that moment. Maybe that's just they're job but that part wasn't pleasant.

I had to take the car to a car wash immediately after picking it up, because it was dirty on the exterior. Interior was dusty but mostly ok. Other than that, it was a good car and pick up and drop off were very convenient.

After traveling a long way with our 1 and 9 year old we were so happy to arrive and get our car. There was no one at the budget rental counter for us to pick up our reservation. 20 minutes go by and someone finally shows up. I was informed insurance was mandatory which was not mentioned in the booking process. Then there was a $1500 hold on top of that placed on my account as a deposit. I was also not made aware of that and it should be standard to mention both of those things during the booking process. The woman at the counter instructed us to go wait outside for her coworker to get us. It is hot and we had so much to carry including the baby. We waited another 20 minutes outside until I decided to go back in and ask the woman where her coworker was. She called him and said he was outside so I went out and no one was there. I went back inside she called him again and then he found me. The car had much wear and tear the price was ok but felt like a lot for a car with close to 80,000 miles. The return was easy but we were instructed to call a number given to us 15 minutes before we arrived. Never experienced that before. Overall I give my experience a low rating BUT that is due to the customer service. Not the car itself

They changed my drop off location without telling me. And it cost me an extra day of rental. The CEO Joe Ferraro seems to be avoiding my emails.

Car wasn’t ready when I arrived.. it’s not even at the location I have to go to other locations to pick up the car because the driver called off so they don’t know what time the car will arrive so I drove there myself to pick up the full size van

I reserved one type of car and somehow in my reservation it was changed to a compact car. It was actually fine but I had purchased separate trip insurance for the kind of car I requested. That made me unsure of whether the insurance would cover the other car type. Fortunately I didn’t need to find out! The man who checked my car in was very funny and nice. Wish I had gotten his name - he found my phone which I left in the car and tracked me down!!!

I didn’t see a Europcar representative at the airport so I called the office and he tells me there are no reservations and no cars available. I say that I have a confirmation number and he just blows me off and not interested in helping me at all.

I would rent from Fox again but I’d be way more likely to rent from Fox if there was a way to use their car for toll roads on only the days when you’re planning to use it on those roads instead of paying for toll usage for the entire duration of the trip. Having to pay for the entire duration even though I only wanted to use tolls for one day meant that the cost was much higher and the value not really that great.

Car had bad transmission. Never should have been rented. When I complained only got a shoulder roll. Non verbal response. Will avoid FOX in the future.

Payless car rental was closed when I arrived at 12pm on a Saturday. . Had to visit another car rental and paid four times the price. Very unpleasant experience.

Despite having a reservation to rent a car for a single day in Puebla, when we showed up we were told there was no car available. Then the man at the front desk said there was a car available but it would be more expensive due to local tax. We were okay with this, but he then said we needed to put down a deposit of $5000 usd, which seemed crazy for just one day. He then changed the deposit amount to $88 usd. The entire interaction felt like he was just making up numbers. It felt very sketchy so we decided to forget renting a car entirely and just traveled via bus…..

Kayak allowing third party insurance that is NOT accepted by the rental company is a total scam. GET RID OF IT. A trial bait and switch situation. Basically illegal.
