The location was a bit obscure. The staff was friendly and had it not been for their helpfulness my husband and I would not have made it in time to pick up the vehicle. Hertz NEEDS to correct it on their website. If you don’t then I’ll have to assume you DON’T care enough about customer satisfaction nor your employees because I expect they are constantly dealing with clients who are lost or need assistance getting to the location. Otherwise, the vehicle was a smooth ride, clean and ample space for long distance travel. Thank you!

Drop-off was super easy. They let us use their lot to leave our car.

Cons:

They could have ensured the car they were giving had been properly cleaned. We received a car that had a plummet of cigarette smoke and with my wife having asthma that was hazardous.

Didnt mention the additional 200 dollar required deposit. Had to open an escalated ticket to get the refund. The guy at the desk was no help at all.

Cons:

The vehicle was so loud, I had to turn the radio's volume as high as it would go to hear it. I traveled for 12 hours in that state. It was an extremely unpleasant trip! I am now unsure if I should use Hertz in the future!

Pros:

I worry about details and whether my wife will be happy with the vehicle. The manager, Eva Garza was so helpful and had that great spirit that made the whole experience a joy. Eva is a great communicator and made the rental contract process quick and easy to understand. The vehicle was clean and wonderful. We prefer to rent with Avis as we have always had an excellent experiences in the past. The Avis location was excellent for us as well. I will recommend to all of my friends renting from Eva Garza at this Avis location. I took a bunch of her cards, too.

Cons:

Nothing. The experience could not have been better.

Every person that I encountered was incredibly polite, efficient and competent . My flight arrived one hour before the Alamo/Enterprise desk opened. I would have loved the ability to pick up my car through a kiosk or something else to avoid a one hour wait for the desk to open.

The customer service isn't exceptional, but it's adequate. This is a respectable car company, one of the few remaining in an industry often marked by dishonesty. The staff were nice and helpful. The car was nice and clean. But we did experience over 40mins of delay before the car became available.

I bought insurance through Kayak. When I picked up the car the SixT agent said we have to put a €1500 hold on your card in case of damage. I never heard of that before. I took the car and after 5 days returned it in the same condition I received it. The SixT agent said all was good and I expected the €1500 hold to be reversed. It’s been more than 24 hours but the hold is still on. Be careful when renting from SixT.

While I had a reservation, I did not rent a cat from SIXT. They were inflexible in working with me to change my reservation (due to airline flight delays.) and ultimately charged my card even though I never arrived for picking up the car ( note I did Not have a Prepaid rate. My reservation was for a Pay on Pickup.)

Despite having a reservation to rent a car for a single day in Puebla, when we showed up we were told there was no car available. Then the man at the front desk said there was a car available but it would be more expensive due to local tax. We were okay with this, but he then said we needed to put down a deposit of $5000 usd, which seemed crazy for just one day. He then changed the deposit amount to $88 usd. The entire interaction felt like he was just making up numbers. It felt very sketchy so we decided to forget renting a car entirely and just traveled via bus…..

I would rent from Fox again but I’d be way more likely to rent from Fox if there was a way to use their car for toll roads on only the days when you’re planning to use it on those roads instead of paying for toll usage for the entire duration of the trip. Having to pay for the entire duration even though I only wanted to use tolls for one day meant that the cost was much higher and the value not really that great.

Pick up seemed okay, I felt I knew more information that I received from online than the employee did. Our vehicle was all beat up on the outside, no floor mats, sticky stuff on the inside. Had good a/c and got us to and from locations which was the main thing. Wished it was cleaner and not so dented prior. Made us nervous we would be charged after. Check out was not so good. Employee checked car in and sent us to get printed receipt which we needed and the employee at the desk had an attitude huffing and puffing as if we were annoying her by asking for our closing receipt. Not very personable on the trips to and from airport on shuttle but each trip they did help load and load luggage and opened doors.

Overall, this was a horrible experience renting through Ace. I made a reservation while on vacation with my family. Once I arriving I was advised that my reservation had expired because I was 4 hours late. I explained to the representative that I call after noticing my pickup was at noon, but my flight arrived at seven. I was told it wouldn't be a problem. The representative told me that the customer service team I called is not connected to their center. He said it's nothing he can do and sat down. I Uber to the hotel and rented from Buget then next day. Horrible customer service!

The email from Easirent with information about my car rental listed Charlotte as the airport instead of Las Vegas which caused me unnecessary confusion and concern. When I tried calling the phone number listed, I was connected to an international agency with an automated message saying they were closed. The email from Easirent also did not explain that we would be taking two separate shuttles to get to the rental center causing further confusion. It was not communicated that Easirent was offsite.

I booked a car in advance and arrived on time. There was only two customers in line also waiting for cars, but the staff said they were “trying to find enough cars”, and then the desk staff had to personally clean the only car that was available. When it was my turn at the desk, they told me my only option was to accept a car with a cracked windshield. I ended up having to leave (after waiting an hour) to rent a car from a different company.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
