Pros:
The staff was exceptionally helpful. They were low on cars and initially going to "upgrade" me to a crossover, but when I stressed the fuel economy they turned around a car in minutes that had been returned since I showed up. And then, when I returned after 6 pm (but before the staff left), they accepted the vehicle without question. I also really appreciated that by paying in advance (not sure if a regular Hertz thing or just a limited thing) I was able to save a significant amount over other local competitors that I've used previously. Even with the more limited hours of this small shop, I would definitely consider using this Hertz location again.4.0 Mediocre

No receipt given. Contacted the general customer number who said they would email it 5-10 minutes. It never arrived. They never did. NO RECEIPT. Not the day of. Not the day after. N8.0 Very good

The rental office is on a busy main street, and the pick up/drop off usually requires double parking. The staff is used to this and handles the challenge adroitly, but as renter dropping of a car, it was a little nerve-wracking.7.2 Good

I had to wait a pretty long time for the service rep to go and get the car. Both reps were out of the building to get cars for other customers. They should find a closer holding lot.2 locations in Silver Spring

The car was not clean when I picked up. I saw visible fingerprints on GPS screen, crumbs in the cup holder, and stains on both front seats. About 45 min into my 4 hour drive back to NY, the “!” Icon began to flash indicating the back right tire was low on air. I don’t typically drive so had no idea how to put air in tires or how much. Called Roadside assistance and was on hold forever. Luckily a cop pulled up at the gas station and was able to help me. These things should be checked before customers drive off w the cars. During COVID pandemic I feel that cleanliness should be a priority!3.2 Poor

First, the office was difficult to locate since it is in a shopping plaza not right on the road as it had been explained. When I returned the car after waiting for the agent to finish his phone call and acknowledge that I was there, the man at the counter was extremely rude. When I questioned the gas prepay refund I was instructed to take it up with the company. That he doesn’t represent the company and that it was expressed in the contract I had read and signed. At which point upon further questioning he provided said pamphlet. I was instructed that I should have read the fine print- and was again told to take it up with the company. Needless to say if I ever rent with Avis again I will be much more explicit in my requests since they obviously conveniently leave things out.10.0 Wonderful

I went to the dealership and asked how much it would be, including insurance. The man ran my card, checked me in and then told me how much it was. He claimed that he couldn't see the total until after my card was charged. I made him cancel the rental and I went elsewhere. Disgusting.One location in Silver Spring
