FAQs - booking Egypt flights

  • What are the layover options when flying to Egypt from Boston?

Different airlines usually have different specific airports that they will make stops at. Therefore, you need to be cautious when choosing an airline to fly with so that you don’t have any problems with visa issues when changing flights. For instance, Air Canada will have its layover in Montreal while most flights by Air France are scheduled to have their layovers in Paris.

  • Do I need a visa to fly to Egypt?

Yes, a visa is one of the requirements for US citizens to be allowed into Egypt. Fortunately, it is possible to get a single-entry 30-day tourist visa on arrival at Egyptian airports as well as multiple entry visas. The single-entry visa will cost you about E£491 ($25) while the latter costs about E£1179 ($60). You can also apply for an e-visa online beforehand instead of waiting until the travel date.

  • Where can I exchange currency at Boston Logan International Airport?

Before boarding your flight to Egypt, you can exchange a few US Dollars for the Egyptian Pound, to allow easier transactions with the locals. BOS Airport has multiple AMEX and Travelex Currency Exchange, although only a few are conveniently located for departing passengers. There is one in terminal A pre-security and another in Terminal B next to American Airlines Club.

  • Is public transport available from Cairo International Airport?

Yes, there is a public shuttle bus that runs from Cairo International Airport to the city center and it is one of the cheapest ways to get from the airport to the city. However, it is not very reliable because they don’t run past 6 p.m. This means that if your flight lands any time after that, you will have to wait till morning or opt for a taxi which is much more reliable and convenient.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Boston to Egypt?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Boston to Egypt.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Boston to Egypt?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to Egypt from Boston is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Boston to Egypt?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to Egypt with an airline and back to Boston with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Boston to Egypt?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to Egypt from Boston up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Top tips for finding cheap flights to Egypt

  • Morning departure is around 8% more expensive than an evening flight, on average*.
  • When flying to Egypt, you can either land at Cairo International Airport (CAI) or Hurghada International Airport (HRG). It is worth pointing out that HRG is a cheaper airport to fly to although CAI offers more connections and has better facilities.
  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is a very busy airport and therefore handles a lot of passenger traffic. As a result, you might experience long queues, so you should arrive at the airport at least three hours before your scheduled departure time to have enough time to go through security.
  • When booking connecting flights, you are advised to go for the ones with an automatic transfer option as opposed to the self-transfer option that is available on some flights. This is because, with an automatic transfer, you won't have to deal with the stress of having to check into each individual flight.
  • The quickest way to BOS from downtown Boston is taking a taxi. They are available everywhere in the city and will only take about 10 minutes, while public transport usually averages 30-40 minutes.
  • Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic, and Air France are the only non-American Airlines with a lounge at Boston Logan Airport. Therefore, consider booking with one of them to get access to the airline lounges at the airport.

3 hours late and all they have is was a $12 meal voucher. That’s not even enough to cover fast food.

Among the poorest flights I’ve had with Delta in a while. Entertainment system failed completely on a 7.5 hr flight. Crew seemed distracted and not the normal friendly crew. Flight overbooked it seemed… very crowded.

If I can, I always fly Delta. I’ve found their service to always be reliable and pleasant.

You could have not cancelled the flight (AA, which I will be flying from now on) left for BOS despite the fictitious weather issues (that no one in my Boston family could see). You could have rebooked my direct flight to another direct flight instead of sending me though JFK, the worst US airport after O’Hara You could have rebooked me on a Main Cabin seat (like the one I paid for in my original ticket instead of putting me a the last row on JFK->BOS leg, pocketing the difference in ticket price But I do not really care whether you will ever do that in a future because in a future neither I nor anyone from my company (unless they pay out of pocket) nor an of my clients and partners (if they heed my advice) will ever be caught dead on any of Delta flights

Really bad baggage handling. Had my Rimowa bag badly damaged at the latches.

It was pretty good I was worried with the short Layover that I might not catch my connection but the gate was there

It was good until there was a 3 hour delay because there was not any pilots to fly the plane.

There was plenty of overhead room but half of the passengers were told they had to check their carryon bags. My partner and I checked in as early as possible and our seats were split across the aisle.

Friendly flight attendants. Comfort plus seats were very comfortable and had lots of leg room. 10A and 10 B.

I've flown many many times on Northwest and then Delta. The crew on this flight were absolutely the best I've had the pleasure of being looked after by.

I arrived 59 minutes before the flight in Tampa due to Massive traffic jam and the flight was closed and I was told that I’d simply have to “book a new ticket on line myself and the gate agents couldn’t help me”. Even though the flight was delayed over 30 minutes, (leaving one hour and 29 minutes before departure, they refused to assist in any way explaining that it’s automatic and there can be no exceptions. Horrible experience due to poor management at gate. I fly this option 2-3 times a year and have a good experience with the cabin crew etc. But, Tampa agents are not trained or allowed customer service. I once was a gate agent for USAir, I know times have changed, but forcing me to purchase a new ticket and complete indifference and inconvenience. No thanks

Good BUT four days later I still don’t have my luggage. It never arrived. !!!!

Crew members were good. Seats were packed and too tight .

Carry on luggage size for economy passengers significantly smaller than other airlines, so nearly all ecomy passengers had their bags taken and checked.

Had a short layover in Zurich, luggage marked expedite and short layover but still didn’t get luggage when arrived in Split until 3 days later even though husband got his.

On time flight, I requested wheelchair in Zurich , when I arrived they were no where to be found, I had one hour between flights I had to walk with great difficulty.

We had issues with upgrading our seats. The flight itself was fine.

Horrible experience. They "GAME" with seats they decided to play where you can`t select or get seat during check-in without paying and then forcing you to stay long line at the Customer Service at the gate to get a boarding ticket with seat assigned is pathetic. Will never fly with United again!

So terrible. They would not rebook me for a flight until 2 days. I had to spend so much money to get my own flight. They were rude and not helpful.

Overall a good experience, the flight was on time, the crew very attentive and friendly. However the seats are too cramped, there is no space, and as soon as the person in front reclines the seat, it's literally in your face.

Overnight flight in the old style Business class, but still very good.

I was in business class, without the business class amenities. Large seat with lots of legroom, but no TV or bed. Food was okay, but I did enjoy the Turkish red wine.

Excellent service and comfort from the moment you check in. Flight crew is hyper focused on making passengers comfortable and at ease. It’s like a flying hotel!

Only chicken as a meat dish through out the flight

Nothing really was great as such. Seen other no name airlines perform better.

Quality of service on board was very inconsistent. FA service primarily seemed robotic and they barely engaged with passengers

I’m unclear why I had to pay extra for assigned seats as Turkish airlines did not honor the seating. We were placed across the aisle from each other on TK 34, and were seated behind one another on TK 694. Because my name was misspelled on e-ticket (Klawiter, instead of Klawitter) I could not log onto website to get the connection gate number in Istanbul. The monitors in the airport were a jumbled mess 1/2 Arabic and 1/2 English.

On line check in needs a lot of improvement. I tried and gave up.

Food not good, flight attendants not the best, not accommodating very ruff

the female flight attendant was racist towards me. I could tell she treated the two other passengers next to me with more softness.

Missed our flight to London and we were put on coach seats to Munich.

Terrible. Missed our flight to Newark as well as our flight to London. Complete disaster

They canceled our flight last minute and we had to get another flight with twice the cost

Dinner was excellent - beef stew, the eggs for breakfast were only ok. It was soooo nice that there were so many options for movies and games.

Captain waited 45 minutes for late passengers boarding from Washington DC to Munich which was nice for them but caused our luggage to miss boarding our connection on to Bucharest. We then did not receive our luggage for about 48 hours after landing which was very inconvenient for our travel.

Poor, we had 1 hour to grab our checked luggage, go through customs, recheck bags and run across terminals to make our United flight. Poorly planned connections.

Check in in Albuquerque was awful. The people were great but they were over loaded. The procedures were terrible. We got through fine but it took 90+ minutes.

Will try to not fly with them again. Delays because of weather but got redirected to an airport where I could not make connection.

Staff didn’t care in business class. Closed the door on my mom while she was on the jetbridge and flight attendant told me she would make it from the connecting flight. They lied. My luggage was damaged on arrival. No success in filing damage claim.

Boston Logan is a crummy airport - signage is terrible or lacking in areas. Boarding seemed to be a free for all and with all the different airlines speaking, you couldn't tell who was supposed to be where and when. Plain and simple, airlines should board from the back of the plane to the front. Also someone was sitting in my seat. By the time that was figured out, I had to place my overhead behind me which made de-planing more difficult. Logan is not Lufthansa's fault so that is not on them, Boarding is on them! Still, overall it was a Good Experience flying with Lufthansa. This is not my first flight with them...

A better organized line of passengers at the boarding gate. Quite disorganized, with multiple queues of economy class passengers

AMS FCO in their full flat business. Amazing sear and food experience.

It was a short haul trip, so food and entertainment weren’t a big issue

The plane seemed very dated. The entertainment was very limited. There was a school group on our flight and the crew seemed bothered by them. They were not overly friendly or welcoming.

Ok, but no entertainment. Left late, but made up most of the time.

May be it is not an ITA issue, but the bags took long time to go out.

Good. But there food was poor quality and 95% of movies didn't have English subtitles

I thought they had rebranded themselves in every aspect but it was quite the opposite. The food was terrible the service was sub-par. Overall it was not a good experience.

Service from staff was poor, food choices were limited. Air plane was not clean or hygienic and seemed like not cleaned for days. Seats were uncomfortable.

service from stAff was barely there , food choices were limited. AirPlane was not clean and seemed like it was not cleaned for days.. Seats were very uncomfortable.
