There was no one at the counter at the reserved time, and after 30 minutes of waiting I had to rent another car from a different agency, and try to cancel this one.

The air conditioner of our car (Toyota Land Cruiser) was not working properly

Cons:

The car lacked a tire air pressure cap on the front right tire. A safety catastrophe waiting to happen. I will be contacting Avis for a FULL REFUND.

Third world service. The car wasn't clean, not on time, the front window had a crack, on return at the airport there were no signs where to return, etc....

Cons:

The car was good, but it didn't have any modern safety sistem.

Pros:

Got “upgraded” however it actually felt the car was worse than the one I booked originally.

Cons:

Got charged a “cleaning fee” which I wasn’t told about even though they insisted I was told. Really don’t like being lied to as I know if I was told I would have raised it as a stupid charge. How are tourists supposed to return the car spotless.

Horrible customer service experience. There were no instructions in how to get there, they are not located in the airport and you have to find the shuttle which is not easy with no directions. It took us so long that when we got there they said our booking was essentially cancelled and we’d have to make a new booking for 30% more. Awful experience, highway robbery.

they are scammers: thet have charged me 22,40 euro because the car was not clear in their opinion. The car of course was not clean as when i got the car but was not very dirty at all. They also did not released any invoice for it. Also i have waited 2 hours before getting the car at the checkin desk.

As for today we have sent a couple of emails requesting information about a charge that was placed on the credit card, but no answer has come from the company that works under the name of Auto One. We are still waiting for a response to clear up the charges.

1200 dollars charged for a chip in the windshield, is a racket, I doubt they will be repairing the chip or replacing the windshield like they said they had to. Also the 3rd party rental insurance I got from kayaks when I got the car didn't cover it they said. After this trip I won't be using kayak, Surprice or Expedia again and will definitely tell my friends about the bad experience.

They had 4 employees yet no one would help me in a line with only 1 other person being helped, waited over an hour just to talk to someone

Because I did not have an international drivers permit, they refused to rent me the car. So, I went to Hertz and they were happy to rent me a car without an IDP. I still need a refund… terrible that I had to spend my first day of vacation dealing with this.

Incorrect pickup location address provided and when calling them they were very rude and kept hanging up the phone before being able to ask them any questions. Had to call 4 times to be able to get the right pickup address.

I arrived, and they had the wrong car. They had an SUV-type 7-seater, but I booked a people carrier van. They didn't have any available, so I had to wait 90 minutes with 3 children for the car to be ready. They claimed the issue with the booking was with Kayak/Expedia, and they made me pay the difference in upgrading the car. I showed them the booking confirmation and the picture of the van/people carrier with 9 seats, but they still made me pay. I was so tired and knew I needed the van that I had to pay to get out of the place. The manager was helpful, and the people were lovely. But I find all car rental places to be borderline crooks. This just confirmed it again for me. There are ridiculous add-ons for mileage, car seats for kids (a legal requirement), insurance, and excess. The list goes on.

Predatory practices around car damage, and didn't accept the 3rd party insurance coverage that I had purchased. At the point of pickup I then needed to provide additional coverage through my credit card. Poor communication and customer service throughout.
